About

willfully dark eye

Some true crime stories are too dark to ignore, and this website is home to many of these, whether it be murder, sexual assault, or other crimes. My videos aim to not only talk about the tragic events but also to remember the victims. Sometimes in the media, it can be portrayed like it’s “just another case” or “another death,” but these were real people going through horrific events. They had hopes, dreams, and loved ones who cared about them.

I first became interested in true crime when I saw an episode of Forensic Files many years ago. It was incredible, and eventually, I watched every episode multiple times. I was fascinated by science, storytelling, and Peter Thomas’s powerful narration. Nobody had or will ever have a better narration than Peter Thomas (RIP). As I got older, I learned about many tragic cases close to home. Some of those are told through my videos.

You may ask, “Why watch your channel over others?” Well, every creator has their own style. Mine is heavily inspired by Forensic Files, at least with how they laid out each episode. AKA the structure. My style is simple: I aim to produce well-researched videos with good narration (continually improving) and high-quality editing. You won’t see me on Camera except for specific times, as the story isn’t about me—the same goes for the thumbnails. I’ll never be on there. I will also use language that fits what is going on.

If you love watching true crime, this is a great place to be. Thank you for the support, the subscriptions, and please stay safe out there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ethics in True Crime is a fascinating topic. Some state that no channel that covers it is ethical. Others have no problem watching content where the creator cracks jokes or does their makeup.  Everybody has their own stance on it, and for me, this is what I follow: All information will be found in deeply researched books or other public information. Every video will have a donation link to the victim’s family if there is such a page.

Books are some of the most essential parts of my research. Because the authors have studied each case longer than I have. Video clips, newspaper articles, and articles fill out the remainder of my research.

Yes, I do. I can’t update YouTube videos yet, so all cases will be updated right here on my website. Just go to the Cases section to see if there has been any new information.

Initially, I tried to get many different brand names. But they were all taken on specific platforms, and I dislike having the name branded on, say, YouTube and then some weird alternative for Instagram. So I kept searching until I thought of this. The name relates to us as true crime viewers and how we willfully engage in consuming these dark stories.

I have answered this question fully on my Patreon. You can click here to see the post.
